OPTIONS FOR MEN

An increasing number of men in all age groups and all walks of life are choosing to have plastic surgery to optimise their appearance and reflect how they still feel on the inside! Like it or not, society places a high value on looking young and fit. Tired looking executives in today's highly competitive business world often feel they are being passed over in favour of more youthful colleagues.

Increasingly, men are becoming aware that the benefits of cosmetic surgery are not restricted to women. Men are choosing plastic surgery procedures to achieve a more youthful and trim body and refine facial features. Currently 25% of Dr Moss' patients are male and the most common procedures they undergo are facelift, brow lift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty and liposculpture.

Cosmetic surgery in men involves modified techniques to take into account their hair distribution, beard growth and skin type. It is vital for the surgeon to appreciate these factors in male brow lift and facelift surgery. Dr Moss has trained with one of the world's leaders in male facial surgery to optimally manage these factors in this important area.

Dr Moss also offers non-surgical anti-wrinkle injections to reduce excessive facial lines and furrows. Your options will be discussed with you at your consultation with Dr Moss. Alternatively, please e-mail us for answers to your questions.

GYNAECOMASTIA (MALE BREAST REDUCTION)

Problem:
When the hormonally sensitive breast tissue of a man grows to a disturbing size for the man. This problem is relatively common, and often results in embarrassment and withdrawal from wearing certain clothes and activities such as swimming.

Solution:
Reduction by ultrasonic liposuction through small 3-4 mm incisions to reduce the volume and fullness of the breasts. Only extremely rarely are incision techniques of male breast reduction needed. A compression garment is required after the operation for 4 weeks.

Best Age:
Mid-twenties +
